My story
I like to think of myself as the Chief Communications Officer’s most valuable partner. Someone who can bring a wealth of experience and relationships to bear – often on short notice – to help devise a winning communication strategy and execute it with precision.
I am fortunate to have spent the majority of my career advising some of the world’s most successful organizations on how to leverage the media and marketing environment to their advantage. As head of the U.S. corporate practice of global PR powerhouse Weber Shandwick for more than a decade, I helped clients build and protect reputation: managing crises and sensitive media issues, building corporate brands, handling executive transitions, advising on ESG-related matters, and developing effective media strategies.
Earlier in my career, I built and co-managed my own award-winning PR agency, Kratz & Jensen, which was ultimately acquired by Havas (HAVS). And prior to my client service career I spent valuable time as a business and financial journalist where I learned how to find the story (or even better, the story behind the story).
Today, I am a hands-on, strategic communications consultant who personally leads all engagements at PJ|PR. And I have a powerful network behind me that can scale up or down as the situation may require. If I’ve learned anything from years of agency work, it's that clients want the impressive people who pitch their business to personally lead and execute the work.
